Decluttering and Organizing

As I've mentioned I have been doing some serious decluttering and downsizing. Though it isn't Spring you could say I am Spring Cleaning. Do you ever feel so overwhelmed that you just cannot get started or even get the motivation to start? That is exactly how I have been. Every day working an hour here or there has truly made a huge difference.

I do not expect perfection. To me, at this point in our lives and the girls ages, it is unrealistic. I do however want to incorporate a daily cleaning/housework schedule and stick to it. Some days I am ready to conquer the world where as others I don't wanna do anything if it doesn't involve watching YouTube videos.

Motivation is certainly a huge part of tackling your household chores. If you are not in the right mind set for getting things done, forget about it. For me, I get inspired by watching or reading other cleaning routines. Social media can be a deep dark pit that you get lost in if you are not careful. So I limit myself to "x" amount of time browsing. I don't do this everyday. As stated previously perfection isn't realistic. So when I need that boost, I grab my coffee cup and head to a YouTube video, blog post, or pinterest.

Recently my focus is decluttering and organization so naturally that would be what the current watch or read is related to. A few blogs I am currently loving include, I Heart Organizing, The Uncluttered Lifestyle, as well as I should be mopping the floor. All of these blogs have some great ideas to help you in that area.

We have a ridiculous amount of crap belongings. Since I am keeping in mind that Rome was not built in a day, it's a continued work in progress. I have so far went from 6, yes 6, different sets of dishes, mind you for 2 adults and 2 children-- Now I currently have "our set" with a set for family gatherings. Say we had Easter Dinner, or a Mother's Day brunch, I would have enough dinnerware for everyone. Plus the 5 totes of not used or outgrown clothing that has accumulated over the last 5 years. Mark my words, this will NEVER happen again. Just smack me next time, okay?!

When I feel it is halfway decent, I would love to share some before and afters with you all. If you have tips, tricks, or a favorite blog you enjoy, feel free to share them down below so I can get more inspiration.

I have a laundry room organization planned to post within the next month as well as birthday planning. If there's anything you're particularly interested in, let me know!

XOXOX,
Recie

Happy New Year

Well, I suppose it's better late than never! Happy New Year to anyone who may take the time to read this. I hope you had a wonderful holiday filled with love and happiness. Our house wasn't as chaotic as some, but with two toddlers it seems to stay hectic around here. We traveled to visit family for Christmas. The girls got to spend some time with their big sister and cousins. They certainly had a ball. I hope to not wait until Christmas 2015 to visit with them again.

With a new year vastly passing by we always seem to make resolutions or deem the beginning of the year as a starting point to accomplish certain goals. I tend to never follow through with resolutions. This year I decided that instead of making a traditional "New Years resolution", that I would make some guidelines for my 2015 year.

As with most people after the holidays, we tend to want to diet or lose 'x' amount of weight. As a family, including my mother and baby sister, we have decided to begin healthy meal planning. I am certainly familiar with meal planning, but I have yet to find a method that is fitting for our lifestyle. I am a stay at home mommy to a nearly 2 & 3 year old. Finding the time to shower is difficult, much less to pre-prepare meals or cook large quantities at a single time. In the future, I will certainly give it a shot. In the meantime, I am still looking for a meal planning system that I will utilize. At this point I plan to make a weekly menu and go from there. Since neither of my girls are in school yet all three meals and snacks will be included with mine.

Speaking of not finding time to do anything-- I also have began purging a great deal out of our home. I am not aiming for a minimalist home. Though I have nothing against minimalism and feel everyone has their own idea of minimal living, again with two toddler girls I just don't feel that is fitting at the moment. I am however ridding our home of things we haven't used or needed in the last year. I have totes, like 20, full of clothing that the girls have outgrown, so that will certainly free some space. Along with this decluttering I am hoping to implement a new organizational system. I have found so many blogs with such wonderful, budget friendly, and simple organization ideas.

Maybe I can bring you all along these journeys with us. It may not be quick or easy, but I know it will be worth it. Not only by ridding my home of clutter, but my mind as well.

Finally!!

I have dreamed of having a blog for what feels like forever! I want somewhere to vent, connect, explore, create, & dream, an interactive "journal" of sorts.

So, about me. I am a mommy to two little divas! They are currently 1 & 2. Nowadays, it seems few & far between to find time for me. Don't get me wrong, I love my girls with everything I have in me. I am currently a SAHM, so I have zero social life and only a few friends whom I speak to frequently. That doesn't offend me much honestly. I'd much rather be snuggled up with my daughters than be out "clubbing" or running the roads any day!

I'm hoping to connect with other SAHM's or anyone really. Hopefully, this can become a routine thing for me! I love writing so that won't be a problem for me.

My sweet fiance' tends to say I'm a makeup junkie... Do I deny this? No. But, maybe I can use my blog to help reach out to other beauty lovers. I can bring you reviews, tips, tutorials, product favorites, etc. I also have a couple subscription boxes I receive monthly & would love to share that with anyone interested.

I look forward to growing my blog & audience. Feel free to say hello & share your blog with me. I'd love to see it!

Thank you for stopping by.
